[Everest Overview] [Manufacturing] [Work Order] [Shop Floor Control] [Production Planning] SHOP FLOOR CONTROL MODULEThis module allows the manufacturer to post labor data for each work center until the work order is complete. You will be able to capture actual labor costs, compare to standards, and see the progress of each work order within the system. Capacity planning is incorporated to determine capacity levels at each work center. Work orders are created in the same manner as described in the Work Order module but production is posted on a different screen. The following flowchart is an overview of the process for using the Shop Floor Control module.
Production is posted to the Shop Floor Data entry screen when a work order is created that includes routings. As production is completed at a work center, the labor hours and bill of materials are recorded for each routing step until production for the work order is complete and the work order is closed. The following Shop Floor Data Entry screen is used for posting production.
SFC Major FunctionsEnter Shop Floor DataLabor hours and materials are posted after the work is completed at each work center. Reviewing of the data is possible prior to posting. This provides for an easy interface with a shop floor data collection system. The shop floor collection system would collect the data and feed it into the shop floor data files as if keying the data. Post Shop Floor DataThis process will post all shop floor data entered into the transaction history files and creates all inventory transactions and General Ledger entries. This process can be real time or batch process. Capacity Planning & UtilizationAllows you to select a work center within a location and view the number of work orders, required hours, available hours and capacity levels for each day. The planner may select a day and manually move a work order forward in the schedule. These changes impact all routing steps on the changed work orders. Once this is done with the critical path work centers, the scheduler can continue to other less critical work centers to view the effect of these changes and make adjustments when necessary. Everest Manufacturing is based on Infinite capacity scheduling. This method suggests “What I need to do by when”.
